EXPOCOOK WORLD CHAMPION 2023

Gianluca Nettuno crowned as the 2023 Expocook Pizza World Champion held in Palermo Italy where he competed against 150 chefs representing over 50 different countries. Here Gianluca, earned the highest score and was crowned Expocook 2023, Pizza World Champion. Gianluca was able to achieve this coveted prize in only one year.

GIANLUCA NETTUNO

Gianluca is an industry expert with a thorough understanding of what it takes to develop, create, and grow a concept into a successful business thanks to his creative flair and strategic approach, as well as his demonstrated track record of working in award-winning fine dining restaurants in the world. 

A testament of Gianluca’s hard work and passion is the result of 20 years of successful experiences at numerous well-known institutions throughout the world, including those in Italy, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States. 

Alain Ducasse, Arnaud Lallement, Mauro Colagreco, Nino Zoccali, Matt Moran, and Guillaume Brahimi are some of the most influential names in the industry that he has had the pleasure to work with. This invaluable experiences allowed Gianluca to further continue to hone his skills and talent, learning from some of the best in the industry, refining his approach to cooking and food development.

Gianluca then moved to Glasgow where he met two “pizzaioli”, who encouraged him to join the world of pizza. They competed in the Expocook Pizza World Championship Competition as a team in May 2022. On the 6th and 7th of March 2023, Gianluca returned to the competition in Palermo in Sicily as a as a solo contestant where he competed against 150 chefs representing over 50 different countries. Here Gianluca, earned the highest score and was crowned Expocook 2023, Pizza World Champion. Gianluca was able to achieve this coveted prize in only one year.
